Election time has arrived and Congress had quickly announced the name of their sincere and deserving representative Mr. Pawan Kumar Bansal from Chandigarh whereas Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) is still in a state of confusion to announce the name of a deserving candidate for the city beautiful.
The Congress party workers have started scheduling their activities and BJP party workers are still struggling to get the name of the selected candidate. BJP party workers are also feeling astray without being able to share a confident candidate name, it has become difficult to appeal for votes while doing door-to-door activities.
Since there is a combat between the BJP Chief Mr. Sanjay Tandon and current MP Mrs. Kirron Kher, what could be the major reason behind not finalizing the name? Is it because of the promises made by the current MP Kirron Kher were not fulfilled and BJP understands it’s difficult to fool Chandigarh’s public again?
We believe it could be one of the mentioned below reasons:-
1. BJP is unsure that current MP Mrs. Kirron Kher will be able to perform this time since she has not done anything for the welfare of city beautiful in fact city has been drastically collapsed from 3rd to 20th position in terms of cleanliness and crime rate has shown mushroom growth.
2. BJP is still struggling to launch a parachute candidate or might be considering their chief Mr. Sanjay Tandon.
Delaying the decision is creating stiffness among the dedicated workers of the BJP since they are unable to promote a name to vote for.
Let’s discuss the work done by the current govt. in Chandigarh in last 4 + years:-
1. According to the survey conducted by the Ministry of Urban Development ranks cities based on cleanliness, Chandigarh stood at 3rd position till 2016. As per the last report shared by the Ministry, Chandigarh cannot be seen in Top 10 Clean cities Of India.
2. As per the public of Chandigarh states ”Roads are in have degraded in recent years, and no step has been taken to maintain and prevent the accidents”.
3. Crime and theft rates have increased and its currently at 61.82% from a survey from last 2 years. Many leading media houses have covered this like (Indian express ) but the situation is getting worse day by day.
4. A neat trick to create a delusion in public eye was to increase the parking fare on the name of smart parking in UT, and the rolling back of the fare in recent days.
BJP is in a situation where there is a dead end on one side and a deep dive on the other. If they give the name of Mrs. Kirron Kher again, then there are chances that she will not get desired votes and support. With BJP Chief Tandon as their choice, it will be a long run for BJP to gather the trust back from the public and it will also but that will also validate that Mrs. Kher did nothing during his tenure except for promoting her films. On the other hand, Mr. Tandon has been the President of the BJP and the onus of its failure is on him as well. He has been trying to pull down Mrs. Kirron Kher on every aspect rather than concentrating on the development of City.
While BJP is in a state of a dilemma from the day opposition party has announced the name if cognizant candidate Mr. Pawan Kumar Bansal as party’s candidate, Congress have started the campaign machine to its best use.
Mrs. Kirron Kher and Mr. Sanjay Tandon were recently seen together at the launch of BJP’s national program “Mein Bhi Chowkidar” campaign, but that hasn’t tricked anyone. The entire city is aware that BJP is a fissure in the mainstream and both are fighting over the ticket, said the party workers.
The city is getting more and more curious every day because the candidate’s name has not been announced yet. Once the candidate is decided, we will be in a position to fully utilize our strategy,” says BJP worker, on the basis of ground-level difficulties they are facing seeing the infighting and non-performance.
Performance in Chandigarh of Mr. Bansal has left BJP in the right spot, confused and in catch 22 position.
Declaring existing one would mean anti-incumbency and bring new would mean accepting the failure of BJP 100 percent for sure…
Fact is performance has no alternative…
