After getting inoculated, cannabis businesses in Washington will be permitted to give one free pre-rolled joint to everyone aged 21 or older.
The proposal comes after a decision last month to enable bars and other liquor licenses in Washington state to offer one free alcoholic drink to people who get their shots within a six-week “window.”
According to recent health department data, fifty-four percent of adults in Washington have received at least one dose of the Covid-19 vaccination.
Washington isn’t the first state to promote Covid-19 injections with a cannabis promotion. A similar initiative in Arizona just launched, offering free marijuana joints or gummy candies to people aged 21 and over who acquire a vaccine.
The pace of the vaccination drive has slowed down in the US. President Joe Biden has set a goal of getting at least one immunization shot into the hands of 70% of adult Americans by July 4th, the country’s Independence Day.
