New rules allowing home delivery of liquor have come into force starting June 11.
The Delhi Government has amended existing laws, including rule 66, which deals with home delivery of liquor, and new regulations permitting pubs and restaurants to serve liquor from extra open spaces such as terraces and balconies will take effect.
The number of L-13 license applications and the government’s willingness to clear them will determine whether or not home delivery of liquor will begin under the revised rules.
People amassed at wine shops to purchase liquor in advance, prompting alcohol manufacturers to ask the Delhi government for allowing home delivery of liquor about a couple of months ago. Besides that, as part of the gradual Unlock process, alcohol shops in the national capital have been functioning on an odd-even basis since June 7 (Monday).
